As part of our commitment to make be as sustainable and ethical as possible Dagsmejan is working with the Eden Reforestation Projects for the third year in a row celebrating Green Friday.

What is Eden Reforestation Projects?
Eden Reforestation Projects is a 501c3 NGO that focuses on fair employment and reforestation. Through their "Plant-to-Employ" approach, their goal is to fairly employ impoverished communities through forest restoration projects, one tree at a time. By providing sustainable employment, Eden Reforestation Projects makes sure that local villagers receive a fair income (which allows them to afford daily necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, and medicine) and that at the same time their natural environment is restored and protected.
The project started back in 2004, when Dr. Stephen Fitch was asked by Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn to take over a forest restoration project in Hawassa, Ethiopia. Since the beginning of the projects over 384 million trees have been planted in Ethiopia, Madagascar, Nepal, Haiti, Indonesia, Mozambique and Kenya; while now the current project regions are also extended to Honduras and Nicaragua.
Their vision is crystal-clear: in the next five years they aim to plant each year a minimum of 500 million trees by employing people from countries in extreme poverty.
