how to sleep better with merino pyjamas

Studies have shown that we can sleep 15 minutes longer with merino pyjamas compared to cotton. So what makes merino the ideal fibre for a thermal pyjamas?

1. KEEP THE BEST TEMPERATURE FOR SLEEP

If we are cold at night or overheating our sleep quality suffers. Researcher Dr Paul Swan, from the University of Sydney, explains:

"Maybe it is not a coincidence because wool regulates your body temperature far better, keeping you in what is known as 'the thermal comfort zone'. You therefore not only fall asleep quicker, sleep longer, but also have deeper, better quality sleep.

With merino sleepwear we can sleep better all year around as the unique structure of merino wool enables it to cool you down when hot, and warm you up when you are cold.

2. DON’T WORRY ABOUT SWEATING WHILE SLEEPING

Merino wool is the ideal fibre for a thermal pyjamas as it helps to cool us down when we get hot. If we start to sweat the merino fibre absorbs it and evaporates the moisture on the outside of your thermal nightwear.

Merino pyjamas can absorb and release twice as much moisture vapour as cotton sleepwear and 30 times more than synthetic sleepwear.

3. FRESH NIGHT COMFORT

Merino pyjamas is natural anti-bacterial and will absorb any odor molecules to only release them when you wash your sleepwear. So even if you start sweating while sleeping you stay smelling and feeling fresh.

4. HEALING YOUR SKIN AS YOU SLEEP

Merino wool is proven to be therapeutic for sensitive skin, the extraordinary temperature and moisture regulation properties of merino wool creates a micro climate that is very beneficial for sensitive skin. Research conducted by Woolmark in collaboration with the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute in Melbourne has proven that wearing super-fine merino wool closest to your skin is therapeutic for eczema suffers.
